This looks a competitive 0-70 handicap but preference goes to Le Reveur (best priced at 8/1) who ran well to finish 2nd over this course and distance a week ago off a 2lb higher mark. The Mike Murphy & Michael Keady trained six-year-old finished only ¾ length behind Crystal Casque last time at Newmarket off a mark of 65 and he gets to run here off a 2lb lower mark today.

The handicapper raised Le Reveur 1lb for his latest 2nd up to a mark of 66 so he runs in this race 3lbs “well in” at the weights and I expect him to run well with up to four places available.

Le Reveur - 0.5pts e/w @ 8/1

The Thomas Gibney trained Booyea (best priced at 7/1) defied odds of 22/1 to win on his handicap debut 25 days ago and he should hold strong claims off a 10lb higher mark. The three-year-old showed very little in his first three starts when beaten 31 lengths, 16 lengths and 11 lengths when sent off 66/1, 150/1 and 200/1.

Booyea won easily by 3 ¾ lengths on his handicap debut at Gowran Park last time off a mark of 64 and he is deserving of a 10lb rise from the handicapper. Gavin Ryan retains the ride and he should run well with four places available.

Booyea - 0.5pts e/w @ 7/1

20:30 Chester

The Simon & Ed Crisford trained Tajawal (best priced at 11/4) has run well in all four of maiden/novice races and he looks well handicapped off an opening mark of 85. The three-year-old son of Frankel finished 2nd on his debut at Kempton before finishing a length 3rd at Wolverhampton on his next start. He finished 3rd at Sandown behind the 106 rated Artistic Star and 105 rated Torito before justifying his short price of 2/7 to get off the mark at Ayr earlier this month.

A mark of 85 looks to be lenient based on his form at Sandown and I expect him to prove hard to beat.

Tajawal - 1pt @ 11/4
