GYTO's Thursday Notebook Double pays 10/1.
18:05 Newbury
Hard to know if any of these debutants will be forward enough to win first time out but I liked what I saw from BOYFRIEND at Windsor and I’m keen to keep him on side. He was sent off 20/1 so not a great deal was expected but he came with a strong run to go down just a neck at the line. The winner Brave Empire looks a smart colt and he won his next start impressively at Redcar to frank the form. Matnookh is a horse I am keeping on my radar going forward as despite finishing down the field in the Chesham he caught the eye so the form stacks up. Of the newcomers Array catches the eye given how well bred he is on paper. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of him along with Indian Run but the latter may well be better over further in time.
18:25 Kempton
Another race with a couple of well bred debutants lining up but I’m keen to chance IT’S MARVELLOUS who has experience on side. She showed next to nothing on sole run as a 2yo when out the back of the telly at this track but improved a great deal on reappearance at Newbury. She chased the winner hard in the closing stages and now the penny has dropped she could be ready to open her account. She has a fair bit of scope and will likely be one to keep on side going forward. Lope De Vega filly Tarraff has also shown ability and that was a good run here last time having gone quite hard early. Sea Me Dance has had a few chances but she should enjoy going up in trip so not one to completely rule out yet although something should improve past her.
