At first glance this looks a really open race but the more I looked at it the more I like PURE ANGEL to bounce back to form. She was gradually progressive as a 2yo and looked a filly going places the way she bolted up at Wolverhampton last year. She caught the eye on handicap debut beaten just a length at Goodwood on reappearance and then had excuses up to 6f at York last time in what looked a good race. Back down to the minimum off a mark of 85 she should take a bit of beating in this. She has lots of pace around her in Jeans Maite and The Big Board and could get a lovely toe into this. The danger is probably Riversway who got her head back in front at Haydock last time and up just 4lb should remain competitive.

Arkenstaar impressed finally opening his account at Hamilton back in May and then followed up when well backed at the same venue next time. He was a drifter in the market when only fourth at this venue last time but that wasn’t a bad effort in defeat. If the market is strong on him then obviously he’d have to be feared but I’m happy to oppose with him off the same mark. LADY OF ARABIA took her form up a notch to score over C&D last month and a 3lb rise shouldn’t be enough to anchor her with the form working out well since. She has more to come and this looks a good chance to follow up. Kristal Klear is yet to win but she hasn’t been doing a lot wrong in defeat and was well backed before finishing fourth at Carlisle last time. She is also respected here.
