After claiming one winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.
15:20 Chelmsford
This looks a competitive 0-95 handicap but preference goes to OWL ISLAND (best priced at 5/1) who lost his unbeaten record last time at Sandown but is 2/2 on the AW. The Simon & Ed Crisford trained three-year-old won over this course and distance on his debut in May before following up under a penalty at Wolverhampton by 2 ¾ lengths.
Owl Island was well beaten on his handicap debut at Sandown on his first start on turf last time but he should be well suited by this return back to the AW in this race. He could still prove well handicapped off a mark of 88 and he is expected to go well with William Buick on board.
15:55 Chelmsford
The William Haggas stable remain in good form and had three winners yesterday and I am hoping that QUEEN AMINATU (best priced at 85/40) can bounce back to form in this race. The four-year-old won her final two starts last season at Lingfield and Deauville before winning on her reappearance at Newcastle in a conditions race.
Queen Aminatu has disappointed on her two starts on turf since but was only beaten 2 ¾ lengths by Sacred at Lingfield on her penultimate start in a Group 3. She drops down to a listed race here and she should prove hard to beat with Tom Marquand once again on board.
16:05 Market Rasen
This looks a weak 0-100 handicap and I expect ROCAMBOLAS (best priced at 11/4) to prove hard to beat under a 7lb penalty. The Ben Pauling trained six-year-old won on his stable debut at April at Uttoxeter before finishing 2nd at Worcester off a mark of 81 in May. He recovered from a fall on his penultimate start to win comfortably at Southwell off a mark of 83 last time.
Rocambolas won easily by 2 ¾ lengths last time under regular rider Dylan Whelan and he should prove well in under a 7lb penalty when re-assessed by the handicapper. Honneur De Sivola looks the biggest danger having been a beaten favourite last time but I expect Rocambolas to prove too good.
