Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.
16:05 Ayr
This looks a competitive 0-95 handicap but a chance is taken on RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE (best priced at 4/1) in a first time visor. The Iain Jardine trained five-year-old finished 2nd on his reappearance at Musselburgh over 1m4f off a mark of 80 before finishing a neck 2nd last time at Carlisle over 1m3f off a mark of 79 when fitted with a first time tongue tie.
Ravenscraig Castle now steps back up in trip to 1m5f which should suit and connections now fit the grey with a first time visor to go with his tongue tie. Jason Hart retains the ride and he should run well off only a 4lb higher mark.
17:20 Chepstow
Connections of 190,000gns purchase BOXING ALEX (best priced at 11/1) would have hoped he would be rated higher than his opening mark of 71 and he can hopefully improve for this switch to handicaps. The David Loughnane trained three-year-old struggled on his first two starts before showing improvement to finish 5th beaten only three lengths at Wolverhampton 14 days ago.
Boxing Alex is now fitted with first time blinkers on his handicap debut and hopefully he will prove better than an opening mark of 71 with David Egan taking over back on board.
17:25 Worcester
Hollow Ron is respected following his win at Uttoxeter a month ago but preference goes to JACK THE FARMER (best priced at 10/3) who was unlucky to bump into a subsequent winner last time. The Nigel Hawke trained seven-year-old has form figures of 32322 since joining this stable this season with his latest effort a close 2nd off a mark of 81 at Uttoxeter.
Jack The Farmer was only beaten a length by Baby Jane that day with the pair pulling 8 lengths clear of the 3rd and that form has been boosted by the winner following up off a 5lb higher mark on her next start. The handicapper has only raised Jack The Farmer 1lb for that effort which seems lenient and he should prove hard to beat in this race.
