With 2 wins from 3 starts this season ROBUSTO looks a horse to keep firmly on side. He impressed me beating a horse I rate in Graham on reappearance at Salisbury and then quickly bounced back from that Catterick disappointment to win at Lingfield last time. He is 6lb higher here and in a slightly better race but he showed he is versatile last time coming from off the pace and with more to come over a mile and a half he is worth keeping safe. Kehlani left her debut run behind the make a winning return at Brighton. She has been beaten twice since but could still be a danger on what is just her second start in a handicap. Whatacracker chased home a really progressive horse in Alpina Express at Ayr but then ran a bit flat last time so a bounce back is called for to spring a surprise in this.

Imperial Emperor is unbeaten and will likely catch many an eye here but I think NOSTRUM looks a great bet for Sir Michael Stoute. This Kingman colt won his first two starts before finishing a creditable third behind Chaldean in the Dewhurst. He is back down in grade for his return and stepping up to a mile for the first time could easily take another sizeable step forward. He has scope to keep progressing for a while yet so I’m keen to keep him on side. Imperial Emperor won over track and trip last month so that is a big positive for him but hard to know if his form amounts to much at this stage. Gosden won this last year with Mighty Ulysses so even though Mostabshir disappointed behind Paddington at Royal Ascot he is another one I expect to get competitive as this is definitely easier.
