Golden Horn colt UNDER THE SUN has been heavily backed this morning. He is well bred and shaped with clear promise to finish second at Haydock on debut last month. He was beaten 5 lengths but looked to bump into a smart horse in the shape of Ancient Wisdom who was a short priced favourite on the day and has since followed up at Newmarket to frank the form. He is obviously open to improvement and if stepping forward should be too good for these. Kodi Bear colt Romantic Samurai showed up well on debut to finish fourth at Haydock and up in trip should have more to come so can go well. Al Musmak catches the eye on breeding and if forward enough on debut might emerge as a greater threat.

The hugely progressive ROBERT JOHNSON may well still be ahead of the handicapper despite having won four of his last five now. He enjoyed stepping back up to two miles to win at Musselburgh last time and the filly he beat into second that day Baez has won impressively since by over four lengths to frank the form. He is up another 3lb so is off a career-high mark now but I think connections have placed him superbly and this is definitely another winnable race to extend the winning sequence.

He remains fairly lightly raced on the Flat and especially over the trip so I think he is still worth keeping on side. Malakahna hasn’t done much wrong the last twice and could threaten if running to that sort of level again. Kalamity Kitty is expected to strip fitter from that Kempton comeback and is another one that needs to be considered.
