This looks a competitive 0-60 handicap but preference goes to EY UP ITS JAZZ (best priced at 11/4) who comes into this race on a hat-trick. The Tony Coyle trained four-year-old has been in good form since joining from Jim Boyle with two victories at Leicester and Thirsk. He beat Danzart by 1 ¼ lengths in April and that rival has won three times since and is now rated 23lbs higher. He then followed up that Leicester victory with a ½ length success over Josiebond at Thirsk in May and that rival is now rated 3lbs higher.

Ey Up Its Jazz runs here off only a 3lb higher mark so he still looks well handicapped and he should prove hard to beat following a 67 day break.

Navy Seal, Halberd and Alonzo are all respected newcomers but preference goes to BREMEN (best priced at 11/8) who outran odds of 22/1 to finish a neck 2nd at Tipperary on his debut. The Donnacha O’Brien trained son of Galileo finished only a neck behind Spanish Flame who had won by six lengths on his previous start and head in front of Chicago Fireball who also had the benefit of experience.

Bremen was slowly away under Gavin Ryan that day and did his best work at the finish shaping like he should be able to step forward from that debut run. This step up in trip to a mile should suit him well and I expect him to prove hard to beat.

The James Evans trained JUSTCALLMEPETE (best priced at 6/1) has form figures of 111122444 in blinkers and he runs here following a good 3rd over this course and distance without any headgear. The four-year-old won four in a row since the application of blinkers last season including off a mark of 82 and he finished a one length 3rd over this course and distance last time off a mark of 86.

Justcallmepete runs here off an unchanged mark of 86 but crucially now has blinkers re-applied for this race. Regular rider Dougie Costello is on board and he should run well with up to four places available.
