GRACEFUL THUNDER, a novice winner at Sandown before being pitched in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, sets a clear standard and is taken to atone for a near-miss when narrowly turned over at short-odds at Lingfield 17 days ago. The draw could have been kinder but she may well have the class to overcome the inconvenience in this company. Lady Nunthorpe has C&D experience and rates the chief threat, while Boardroom appeals most of the newcomers.
Prediction : 1st Graceful Thunder 2nd Lady Nunthorpe 3rd Boardroom

ON BORROWED TIME comfortably accounted for Chicabiddy (third) when she won a seller on her debut at Redcar last month and then had a legitimate excuse (hampered) in a rough race at Chester 18 days ago. That form looks solid and the Ollie Pears-trianed filly shades preference on her handicap debut. Without Flaw is also open to improvement and is respected from a workable mark, while Go Your Own Way is suggested as the best of the rest.
Prediction : 1st On Borrowed Time 2nd Without Flaw 3rd Go Your Own Way

Having been placed here the last twice, MR HEINZ has shown a liking for Beverley's stiff finish and may be worth chancing in his bid to break his maiden at the 12th attempt. Nudged down 1lb since last time, the handicapper has given him a chance and, with his yard holding a good record on the Westwood, there are solid foundations for another big run. Star Start, Rory The Cat and Skedaddled are other in-form contenders to consider.
Prediction : 1st Mr Heinz 2nd Star Start 3rd Rory The Cat

Now that the penny has dropped for BANKRUPT after a taking success at Bath earlier in the month, there should be much more to come from the son of Adaay and an 8lb rise rise may not be enough to halt him today. The well-handicapped Wade's Magic returned to form with a strong placed effort at Carlisle and he must enter calculations, along with the consistent Latin Five and Imperial Khan.
Prediction : 1st Bankrupt 2nd Wades Magic 3rd Latin Five

INSOLENTE used up a lot of energy to get to the front, having been awkwardly away, over C&D last time out and that seemed to tell at the finish. Rebecca Menzies' filly won over C&D in May and this appeals as another ideal opportunity, with Mehmo and the capable Autumn Flight looking best placed to chase him home. Others to note include Hot Scoop, James Watt and Jazzagal.
Prediction : 1st Insolente 2nd Jazzagal 3rd Mehmo

ZINC WHITE saw his winning run on the Flat come to an end when he was put in his place in the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting when looking for a four-timer, but he did take a better race than this at Chester in May off 8lb lower and, with enough give in the ground, he could get back to winning ways. Land Of Winter should also go well having won five races, two of them off this mark or higher, while Haizoom is hard to ignore, with the Johnston yard so adept with their stayers.
Prediction : 1st Zinc White 2nd Land Of Winter 3rd Haizoom

UGO GREGORY won this in 2021 for Tim Easterby off a mark 2lb higher than he races off today and, with three wins at the track and a liking for softer ground, he can go well again after running acceptably on quicker surfaces recently. Dr Rio scored over C&D last time out but an added 4lb from the handicapper has to be a negative, though he is another who should appreciate the recent rain. Doncaster second She's The Danger and the unexposed Golden Moon are also worth a second look.
Prediction : 1st Ugo Gregory 2nd Dr Rio 3rd Shes The Danger
