GYTO's Friday Notebook Double pays 9/1.
17:00 Haydock
Now handicapping off a mark of just 68 I’m expecting NIGIRI to prove hard to beat at Haydock on Friday. This filly by Lope De Vega ran an eye-catching race when third behind Tiffany at Wolverhampton last month. That filly has since followed up to frank the form. She reared out the stalls that day too but did well to recover through the race before you could see the penny dropping in the closing stages. She was nearest finish and must have gone down in a few Notebooks so I expect her to be popular here so it’ll be worth taking the early price. Streaky Bay finally opened her account at Yarmouth last time but wouldn’t be a sure thing to back that up given her overall patchy record. Princess Naomi definitely has a chance but needs to bounce back.

Sea The Stars colt ELNAJMM could be ready to strike at Newmarket on Friday. He was a big eye-catcher on debut finishing second to Dragon Icon at Kempton staying on well in the closing stages. The form has worked out fairly well since with the third Balance Play looking a nice type. Put away he improved over the winter and made a really promising return beaten just a short head at Windsor at the start of the month. He still looked raw on that occasion and did plenty wrong so I think it can be marked up. He finished the race well and with more to come should go one better now. Kiaraad ran well on debut and then improved to win head in chest at Beverley. This demands more but he is going the right way and is feared most. Modesty also has claims.
