UK Horse Racing Tips: Leopardstown

With seven debutants in the line-up, all coming from respected sources, the market should be informative. The shrewd Barry Fitzgerald introduces Hannah Buckle, who is closely related to a whole host of winners, while Ger Lyons is double-handed with Sakti and National Lady, the latter a 130,000-euro yearling purchase. For a selection, the Paddy Twomey-trained TEN DEEP gets the nod. Fifth on debut at the Curragh behind the impressive Ylang Ylang, she finished ahead of subsequent winners Caught U Looking and Opera Singer. The Ten Sovereigns bay can be expected to come on plenty for that experience and is fitted with a tongue strap now. A half-sister to four-time Group 1 winner Alcohol Free, the twice-raced Brilliant should be able to make her presence felt with Ryan Moore aboard, while it will be interesting to see how Sli Na Ghealai fares off a light weight, with Kyanna Van Buuren claiming 10lb.

The O'Brien clan have dominated this race in recent seasons and that trend looks set to continue. Bought for 1.5 million guineas as a yearling, YLANG YLANG impressed when making all on debut at the Curragh, with subsequent winners Caught U Looking and Opera Singer in behind. An early favourite for next year's 1000 Guineas, the daughter of Frankel should prove hard to beat. Joseph and Donnacha O'Brien saddle Nemonte and Mysteries respectively, with the former also successful on debut at the Curragh. She since finished a respectable seventh in the Chesham at Royal Ascot and should be able to make an impact here. A close third on debut, Mysteries was a good winner on her second start at Cork and it will come as no real surprise if she manages to follow up. Bellewstown winner Lady Craftsman looks the best of the remainder.

The O'Brien clan again dominate here, but they might have to settle for minor honours behind the Johnny Murtagh-trained CHICAGO FIREBALL. One of two maidens in the line-up, the Acclamation colt had a far from clear passage on debut, finishing fourth behind Islandsinthestream. He since went down by just a neck and a head behind two smart prospects at Tipperary and a reproduction of that performance should see him go close. The aforementioned Islandsinthestream impressed when coming from last to first on debut and it would be no surprise if he managed to follow up. Henry Adams and Mountain Bear are the Ballydoyle representatives and both warrant respect, with Ryan Moore aboard the latter. Successful at the Curragh on his second start, he since failed to make an impact in a Group 2 at Newmarket. Devious has been highly tried since winning on debut at Naas and he should appreciate this drop in class.

Transferred from the cancelled Curragh card on Sunday, Zarinsk is a significant inclusion and with a rating of 108, the Ger Lyons-trained filly is the highest rated runner in the line-up. A proven soft-ground performer and already twice successful at Leopardstown, she has plenty going for her. Lyons saddles another leading contender in the shape of Power Under Me. Also a dual course victor, he is rated just 2lb below his stable companion. For a selection, though, HONEY GIRL gets the nod. One of three Joseph O'Brien-trained representatives in the field, she is sure to relish the soft ground. Fourth in the 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh, Tarawa will have plenty of supporters, while the likeable Lord Massusus is another leading hope.

A good showing from Henry Adams in the Tyros Stakes would increase confidence behind SHIHOKU. Half a length separated the pair at Naas earlier this month and while the Michael O'Callaghan-trained selection ultimately had to settle for second, he did finish out his race well. Well fancied at the Tipper Road venue, the French-bred bay is upped in trip, which should help his cause. Aidan O'Brien, who trains Henry Adams, is represented by debutants Chief Little Rock and The Equator. Ryan Moore will be aboard the latter, who is out of dual Group 1 winner Quiet Reflection. An 85,000-euro yearling purchase, Juxtaposition is of definite interest on debut for Paddy Twomey, while the Joseph O'Brien-trained Alonzo is another newcomer who warrants respect. Instant Appeal and Gandolfo make some appeal too, with the latter catching the eye when a fast-finishing third at Killarney last week.

Another competitive affair, with SAVE YOUR LOVE the suggestion. Out of dual Listed victor My Renee, she is a half-sister to prolific winner Banimpire, who went down by just a short head in the 2011 Irish Oaks. Successful at Gowran in May, the selection had no luck in running at the Curragh on Derby weekend, finishing fourth in the race won by The Franchise. The tongue strap which was fitted for the first time at the Curragh remains in place now, and it will be disappointing if she is not involved towards the business end. Carracci was beaten just a length in the Nasrullah over C&D, and it will come as no surprise if he manages to go a place better. Fort Vega disappointed at Royal Ascot but is capable of making his presence felt, while it will be interesting to see how Tough Talk fares, stepping up in trip. Encosta is sure to have plenty of supporters with Colin Keane aboard, while Pandora Lovegood, who won twice last season, can't be ruled out on her return.

An interesting contest, with Waltham the standout name after his impressive win over C&D last month. He is highly regarded by connections, but it's hardly ideal that he has to give weight away to all of his rivals. Dutch Gold impressed on his penultimate start and can be forgiven his most recent effort at Navan after his reins snapped early on. Rapparee Champ snatched victory from the jaws of defeat at Fairyhouse and is open to further progress in first-time cheekpieces. It might still be worth siding with CAPE BRIDGEWATER, who clearly appreciated the step up in trip when making virtually all at Tipperary in May and it will come as no surprise if he manages to follow up. Esquiline appears the best of the remainder but it looks a tough ask for her as the only filly in the field.

Third behind the progressive Londonofficecallin at Killarney last week, it will come as no surprise if he manages to go two places better. A three-time winner, Red Vermillion was seventh in that Killarney contest and is capable of making her presence felt. The Henry de Bromhead-trained Moon Over Claddagh is of definite interest on his handicap debut, with Abraham, Mephisto, Elzaamsan and Folly Beach other leading hopes.
