GYTO's Sunday Notebook Double pays 14/1.

In an open race it may pay to side with POKER FACE as I thought there was enough promise in that recent Sandown second. He was keen enough that day and just seemed to bump into one in the shape of Savvy Victory. That colt looks on the up so it could be form that works out well in time despite the small field. He drops back to a stiff mile here which should prove ideal and I think he can go one better. He still has a fair bit of potential after just 7 starts so if improving again has a great chance. The danger looks to be Al Mubhir who won easily at Leicester before finishing third back to 7f at Haydock. Back up to a mile will help and he should give his running.

There are 3 of these who arrive in winning form and ARAMAX looks the pick of them. He obviously won the Fred Winter at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival and was finally back in the winners enclosure at Cartmel back in May. Freshened up since he runs off a 6lb higher mark here but that shouldn’t bother him and that form has been franked since too with both the third and fourth winning next time out. He will be ridden quietly again before looking to pick them off in the closing stages. The danger looks to be Jet Of Magic who won over C&D 4 weeks ago and will definitely remain competitive off just a 5lb rise. Butler’s Brief also has claims but perhaps was a bit fortunate last time.
