The market is already speaking positively about AMLETO and it is easy to see why. This son of Sea The Stars is a full brother to the talented Sea Of Class and has improved with every start so far. I liked the way he opened his account at Chester back in May and that form has been franked since with the runner-up Paddy The Squire winning in the style of a promising colt at Ayr earlier this week. He goes up in trip for his handicap debut now and an opening mark of 89 should prove lenient. Obviously no easy task with a fair bit of potential against him too and the danger is likely Westerton who remains unexposed over this trip and has Ryan Moore up again. Fox Journey also has more improvement to come and should run well.

I know we have only seen SALAMANCA LAD once but I thought he ran an eye-catching race on debut to finish fourth at York. He looked clueless in the early stages but once the penny dropped he really found his stride late and struck me as a horse that will know a lot more next time. Horses from this yard usually improve with experience and he looks one to keep on side now. Land Lover ran well when second to Soldier’s Gold at Carlisle but didn’t really back that up at Ayr last time and a bounce back is called for now. Of the rest Bay Of Australia shaped well on debut before running a bit flat at Catterick. He still has potential so is also respected if managing to bounce back. Sweet Soul Music is also noted but might be a longer term project.
