Trabajo Detecho has a good record over this trip with three wins, two at Newcastle and one at Hamilton last time, but he was all out that day to score narrowly, so a 3lb rise will make life tougher. Impeller is due to go up 3lb in future after his recent second, which brings him into the equation, but MOMAER is preferred. An easy winer at Leicester last month, she has been put up 9lb for that but with only the five career starts to her name, there may be improvement to come.

Rogue Soldier has been running well without winning and wasn't beaten that far when third at Beverley last month. KNIGHTS AFFAIR almost pulled off a 20/1 shock at Ripon when keeping on into second after a slow start and, if he learns from that, he may go one better here. Three Yorkshiremen is also interesting as he's dropping back in trip after weakening over a mile and a quarter at Redcar and York.

Only narrowly denied over C&D last month, CARIAD looks the one to side with off the same mark. She filled the runner-up spot on her third-last outing too, also over C&D, and George Scott's inmate is fancied to progress enough to get back in the winning groove. No Barrier lost little in defeat at Doncaster most recently and is feared most, while Bobby Dassler is another to bear in mind.

Even though he disappointed over an extended mile on the all-weather in May, a longer distance looks worth exploring with Born Ruler on his turf debut. However, he does have to shoulder joint top-weight, so preference is for DAMASCUS STEEL. The gelded son of Mastercraftsman only lost out by a short head at Pontefract last month when denied a clear run approaching the final furlong. Night Life also warrants a second look.

DEREHAM registered a staying-on success over this distance at Newmarket in June and a 3lb rise may not be enough to hold him back. He has been progressive this season and it is likely he has more to offer. Manxman remains unexposed and is feared most in a first-time visor, especially given he kept on for third over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last month. Last-time-out winners Team Endeavour and Zillion complete the shortlist.
