Richard Fahey's yard is running hot right now and RAINWATER looks a likely type to enhance the yard's impressive juvenile strike-rate. A half-brother to the Group 3 winner Ventura Rebel, the son of Mayson holds a valuable sales race entry later in the year and should take some stopping as long as the market vibes aren't negative. Amroon is a Showcasing colt who has to be considered given that his sales price has twice risen incrementally, while Ralph Beckett's filly Forever Blue changed hands for 80,000 guineas and is also likely to have plenty to offer.

The revitalised Be Proud, twice successful over 6f at Doncaster last month, is likely mount a strong hat-trick bid here but a 6lb rise might just leave him vulnerable in these conditions. Preference is for improving three-year-old DARK TROOPER, who doesn't look to have been over-penalised (3lb rise) for a cosy win at Yarmouth last time. Illusionist under-performed at Hamilton last time but was a ready winner when last seen in a class 4 handicap and goes well on an easy surface.

THREE YORKSHIREMEN kept on well over shorter to win easily by over five lengths at Nottingham on Thursday and if he is fully recovered from those efforts, he may be able to shrug off his 6lb penalty while the going remains in his favour. Auld Toon Loon also arrives on the back of a clear-cut victory at Chester and he looks a serious danger off just 4lb higher, while the Easterby family have won both runnings of this contest, suggesting Ring Of Beara could surprise a few on his return to action.

Paladin may prove popular here for Charlie Johnston after winning over C&D last month, but he was all out to get back up after being passed that day and this looks tougher. NELLIE LEYLAX has encountered soft ground twice in his four starts, winning both of them and the latest by over three lengths in a class 2 novice at Doncaster 15 days ago. He has top-weight here but deservedly so, and there may be more to come, while Beyond Borders and Watcha Matey could fight it out for third.

Three-year-olds have won both runnings of this contest and that may continue here if C&D winner RAIMUNDA continues to progress. Heavy ground saw her get off the mark at the third attempt here last month by three lengths after being sent to the front two out, and a mark of 77 seems fair enough judged on that form. Nigiri is worth another try at this trip after winning over a furlong shorter here but she was given an added 7lb for that victory, so Iato's Angel looks the one for the forecast on her first start for new connections.

CINNODIN unlocked further potential when regaining the winning thread over a similar trip at Newbury last Thursday and Richard Hughes' gelding could make light work of a 4lb rise if in the same mood today. Nathanael Greene has posted some creditable efforts in defeat this season, particularly his fourth in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle in early July, and the four-year-old is feared most in these calmer waters. Geremia and Miss Cynthia are others to consider at this level.
