I have backed CHINESE KNOT the last twice and I thought she was impressive at Yarmouth last time. She was always getting up under a confident ride from Saffie Osborne and the fact she only won by a neck means she has only gone up 5lb in the handicap. She is open to further improvement with the step up to 6f likely to be a big positive given the way she has shaped the last twice. Band Of Joy will go a good clip so she should have a nice target to aim at and I can’t see granted usual luck in-running how she doesn’t get there in the closing stages. Band Of Joy is obviously plenty talented as well but she had a hard race when second at Beverley last time and this might come soon enough. Eminny won at Beverley and Leicester before flopping at Listed level latest. This is easier but she has a bit to prove.

Another horse that is thriving right now in the shape of WAR CHANT for Rae Guest. I remember this son of War Command looking an absolute picture in the paddock before winning impressively at Nottingham back in June and he hasn’t looked back since. He followed up albeit by just a short head at Wetherby and then beat a solid yardstick in Hi Clare at Bath last time. He is up 5lb but could keep improving for a while yet so despite this looking a tougher race I’m keen to keep him on side for now. Azahara Palace is a likeable filly who is eyeing up a hat-trick after winning again at Chepstow last month. She is 3lb higher but looks the one to give the selection most to think about. Gold Aura was only beaten a length at Kempton when last seen and if strong in the betting is another one who will likely run very well.
