I’m keen to take a chance on MIRRORING making the breakthrough at Epsom on Friday afternoon. This Mehmas filly shaped with encouragement on 2 of her first 3 starts and then very much caught the eye in defeat when third to Flaccianello at Newmarket last time. That was her handicap debut and I think that is form that will work out well in time. She runs off a 1lb lower mark here and this is notably easier too. She is bred to relish the step up to 7f and I think there is plenty going for her now. The dangers is probably Guns And Flowers as the betting is suggesting as she also has form that ties in with Say Hello and was beaten less than a length at Chester last time. Of the rest Battle Charge should improve at some point but might need more time.

The unexposed BRAVE KNIGHT could easily take another step forward now. This likeable colt has only had the four starts in handicaps and was very much back to form when second to the progressive Nothing To Sea at Sandown last month. He stuck to the task well that day in testing ground and the front pair pulled some 7 and a half lengths clear from the rest. He is only 2lb higher here racing over this trip for just the second time and should get back to winning ways with Luke Morris back in the saddle. Lady Percival was denied a hat-trick when last seen finishing third over C&D and she usually needs her first start back but she might still get competitive. Bit Harsh is another one interesting back down in trip.
