This is a marked drop in class for FIGHTER ALLEN and he could take advantage. He has been out of form, but his sole victory over fences came in a small field at this track in April last year when he made all and enjoyed himself in coming home by six lengths. Salvador Ziggy showed plenty of aptitude for this game when winning on chasing debut at Punchestown. He was understandably a bit novicey in his jumping, but is entitled to improve for that outing. Darver Star is only rated 1lb inferior to Fighter Allen and, although he has had a much better career over hurdles, has the ability to get involved. Lieutenant Highway and Grozni should not be ignored.

C'EST QUELQU'UN looks to have solid credentials for this assignment. This six-year-old gelding won over flights and over fences in Britain, and has posted two runner-up finishes in handicap hurdles since transferring to Gordon Elliott. Rule Of June won over fences at this festival last year. She wasn't at her best when pulled up at Wexford in June, but her jockey reported that his saddle slipped. She has had some time off and is better judged on her runner-up berth on penultimate start at Clonmel. Sean Says kept on for third over further at Wexford in June and a reproduction of that effort would have her in the mix.

FERMOYLE has a sporting chance of overturning Doctor Brown Bear. The big advantage he has is race fitness. He showed he has a future over hurdles when taking the runner-up berth on jumping debut at Punchestown in June, and had a subsequent maiden hurdle winner in behind. Doctor Brown Bear ought to take a bit of beating if fully wound up on his return to action. He put in fair efforts to be placed in maiden hurdles at Fairyhouse and Punchestown back in November 2021. Since then, he has been highly tried with the pick of his results a fourth in a juvenile Grade 3 at Fairyhouse and sixth when last seen in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham in January. He holds a mark of 119. Lucky Storm has been a big price in two maiden hurdles, but showed more before falling three out in Cork.

FIRST DARE is a former C&D winner who should be a big player in this company. Just two runs back, she ran on well for fourth in a 0-140 mares' handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe which is notable form. Tom Harney takes 7lb off her back, so she is on a dangerous mark. Costanuci is in good heart, but the drop in trip is a slight concern. She handled the undulations in Tramore when obliging over further in June, and showed that her new mark isn't beyond her when staying on for fourth in a much higher grade over further in Cork. Mark McDonagh scored on his first ride for Edward O'Grady in Downpatrick and the pair team up with Betty Dutton, who has bright prospects. She has finished third in her last four handicap hurdles and McDonagh's 5lb claim will make life a bit easier for the top-weight. Rebel Treaty is one to note on handicap debut after finishing third in a big-field maiden at Cork.

COASTGUARD LADY could be the answer to a weak race. This Coastal Path mare is entitled to come on for the run when fifth on hurdling debut at Kilbeggan last month. That was her first outing since October. Her trainer, Willie Mullins, landed this race last year. Milfordfourthree showed much more when fourth at a big price in Killarney. The winner of that mares' maiden hurdle has since gone in again at Sligo to boost the form. Sea Aster was very easy to back at Limerick, but kept on for fifth place. She represents a powerful stable and the suspicion is that there is more to come from her on just her fourth start. Henry de Bromhead's Tideways Hero should get closer in this race.

HARD RAIN was a nine-length winner over a shorter trip in Limerick and, if in the same mood, has every chance of following up. He has form over two and a half miles, so this trip shouldn't be an issue. The forecast rain is very much to his advantage. Duncarrig travelled well into second before falling at the penultimate flight in Ballinrobe, so has to rate a threat. Garcon Doux was placed over a similar trip at this track in April. His sixth in Cork earlier in the month got a boost when the horse behind him in ninth came out and won a Sligo handicap hurdle. Zettabyte attracted support in Downpatrick last Sunday and was unlucky to unseat his rider. A big run wouldn't be surprising. Inforapenny represents an in-form stable and has been placed in two of his last three handicap hurdles.

CAMAN EILEEN can enhance Willie Mullins' phenomenal record in bumpers this season. This Gutaifan filly is a half-sister to a six-time winner on the Flat and is sure to be well schooled for her racecourse debut. Peter Fahey's Gone For Tea has been placed in both bumpers to date albeit without threatening the winners. That experience will stand to her, though. Zolpharine has posted a couple of fourth-placed finishes in two Ballinrobe bumpers and could improve upon that. Cheekpieces are tried on Silver Lark who hasn't kicked on from a debut second in Thurles.
