Following a 7/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action.

Many of the horses in this 0-65 nursery handicap are open to improvement but I feel UNOWHO (best priced at 22/1) is overpriced based on his debut effort. The Ollie Pears trained gelding finished 2nd by a neck at Thirsk on his debut over 5f before finishing 5th on his next two starts at Doncaster and Hamilton. He finished 7th but beaten only 3 ½ lengths on his first run since being gelded last time at Newcastle but he now makes his handicap debut off a mark of 67.
Connections also fit Unowho with first time blinkers in this race and that can hopefully mean he makes a winning handicap debut in this race.

This looks to be between the in-form pair Borough and SOUL SEEKER (best priced at 3/1) with preference going to the latter. The David O’Meara trained six-year-old has dropped down to a career low mark of 66 when winning the “Jump Jockeys’ Nunthorpe” at York in July but since then he has followed that up with a short head 2nd at Newmarket and a neck victory at Beverley on Thursday.
Soul Seeker justified 16/5 favouritism that day off a mark of 72 and he looks to hold strong claims despite a 5lb penalty in this race. He had previously won off a mark of 83 in 2021 so he is still well handicapped and should prove hard to beat.

The topweight QUERCUS (best priced at 5/2) has only won five times in his career and all of those have come over this course and distance so he should hold strong claims of completing a hat-trick here. The Ann Duffield trained six-year-old won by a head off a mark of 56 a month ago before following up by 2 ¾ lengths 26 days ago.
The handicapper has raised Quercus 4lbs for that victory which is fair and he can hopefully continue his recent winning form in this race.
