GYTO's Saturday Notebook Double pays 7/1.
15:50 Goodwood
This race has cut up somewhat with 3 non runners now so the price is a bit shorter than ideal but LUCKY FIFTEEN should be hard to beat. He caught the eye when second to Greysful Storm on handicap debut and has done nothing but improve since bringing up the hat-trick at Ffos Las last month. Freshened up since and off a 7lb higher mark with further progress to come he can land the four-timer. Lawn Ranger isn’t getting any younger but won well at Windsor last time so could go well again. Mr Professor has run well twice for his new yard and is building on that last run may well be the one to give the selection most to think about. Sweet Reward won at Epsom but failed to back that up last time and might be up against it.
17:10 Curragh
No Nay Never colt MOUNTAIN BEAR lost little in defeat beaten just a length and a quarter behind Haatem at Glorious Goodwood last time. He was held up that day having got a bit worked up in the prelims but made good headway out wide before keeping on. He drops back to 6f now and if settling better closer to the pace I think we’ll see a much better performance. His win over C&D back in June was convincing and while this is competitive being a Group 3 he is open to a fair bit of improvement on just his fifth start. Letsbefrankaboutit shaped with promise when third over C&D on debut behind Navassa Island and with natural improvement could be the danger. Do It With Style also still has potential and was only beaten a couple of lengths into third last time so if building on that could also feature in this.
