After getting within a neck of victory on debut VALIDATED must be of strong interest here. He was well backed ahead of his first time on a racecourse and looked a bit unlucky with the penny just dropping too late. He will know a lot more this time around and should take a bit of beating switched to turf for the first time. Lambert left his debut run miles behind to win head in chest at Newmarket and he looks the danger with further improvement to come. Charming Whisper has a similar profile to the latter as well having left his debut run behind to win over C&D last time. If he steps forward he will get competitive too. Cock And Bull is the most interesting of the debutants but unless the market speaks strongly is probably best watched.

This is competitive but I am keen to side with POKER FACE after he got his head back in front at Pontefract last month. He was heavily backed on that occasion and showed a good attitude to get on top in the closing stages. Conditions are ideal again here and he is still open to further improvement given how lightly raced he is. This is tougher but he deserves a crack at Group company and connections seem bullish about his chance. The Revenant is an 8yo now and while he is clearly entitled to run well I’ll be disappointed if the selection can’t improve past him. He was below par when last seen too and will need the break to freshen him up. Of the rest Raadobarg was behind the selection last time but only beaten a length so he also enters calculations.
