Steve Ryder is back with three selections for today's action.
14:40 Catterick
This looks a competitive 0-80 handicap but preference goes to ALBEGONE (best priced at 9/2) who should hold strong claims under a 5lb penalty. The Tim Easterby trained five-year-old won comfortably by 1 ¾ lengths over this course and distance last time off a mark of 57 with the solid yardstick Soul Seeker back in third beaten a further length.
The handicapper has raised Albegone 6lbs for that victory so he races here 1lb “well in” at the weights and he should run well once again with up to four places available.
17:30 Lingfield
REVOLUCION (best priced at 8/1) has to overcome Stall 12 in this race but he looks well handicapped based on his previous AW form. The Joe Parr trained three-year-old has form figures of 522423 in AW handicaps including a close 2nd over 7f here in November off a mark of 64 and he should hold strong claims off a 2lb lower mark in this race.
Revolucion was only beaten 1 ½ lengths at Chelmsford off a mark of 64 on his penultimate start so the handicapper has been generous dropping him to a mark of 62 and he should run well with four places on offer.
18:50 Uttoxeter
Enthused bids to end a frustrating run of seconds but preference goes to AMBASSADOR (best priced at 9/2) who should be able to complete a course and distance hat-trick. The six-year-old won by 3 ¼ lengths on his final start for Martin Keighley in July off a mark of 89 before following up off a 6lb higher mark by 1 ½ lengths 33 days ago.
The handicapper has raised him a further 2lbs for that victory which seems generous and he can hopefully make it 3/3 since the re-fitting of a visor with Brian Hughes retaining the ride.
