Architect Tips shares Tote Placepot tips for Thursday's action at Newcastle
17:45 Newcastle
Leg 1 Selections: Wynter Wildes, True Courage
WYNTER WILDES, a winner of two of her last five starts, is down in grade from last time and should give a solid account of herself. I also like the claims of TRUE COURAGE who has course-and-distance winning form and should also be competitive in this grade given his last win came off a pound higher mark.
18:15 Newcastle
Leg 2 Selections: Beechwood Star, Classy Clarets
The Richard Fahey-trained BEECHWOOD STAR has hit the frame in all three of his starts and was beaten just a head two starts ago at Ayr. He is open to plenty more improvement and should be able to rank higher than this mark. He is one of the main contenders. Stablemate CLASSY CLARETS went close over course-and-distance last time when second and has more to offer.
18:45 Newcastle
Leg 3 Selections: Akmaam, Half Nutz
AKMAAM went very close off this mark last time at Curragh and wouldn’t need to improve much more to have a say in the outcome of this contest. HALF NUTZ is two pounds below his last winning mark and went close off this mark just seven days ago in Ireland. He should be about strike given the form he is in at the moment
19:15 Newcastle
Leg 4 Selections: Ataser, Hydration, Nordic Passage
The very capable ATASER has fallen to a career-low mark and has placed in two of his last three starts. His last win came off a seven pounds higher mark and he should be competitive, while recent Doncaster winner HYDRATION is sure to be thereabouts, who has won three of his last five starts and probably has more to come. NORDIC PASSAGE is very well-handicapped on the pick of his Irish form and has been unlucky to be narrowly beaten the last twice.
19:45 Newcastle
Leg 5 Selections: Storm Catcher, Moonspirit
STORM CATCHER completed a hat-trick earlier this year and has placed in his last couple of starts. He was a good third in a much stronger race at Ascot when last spotted and is down in grade from the same mark. He must be respected and can go very well. MOONSPIRIT caught the eye on her handicap debut last time when fourth and could also run a big race
20:15 Newcastle
Leg 6 Selections: Loingseoir, Helm Rock
LOINGSEOIR ran a big race when second at a racing league meeting earlier this month and was last seen finishing second off this mark back in Ireland. Given his current mood, he must be considered as one of the main players and is a solid Placepot choice. HELM ROCK has placed numerous times this year off higher marks and is back on his last winning mark, so he cannot be written off in this highly-competitive contest.
