Leg 1 Selections: Topo Chico, Brazen Idol, Parisiac, Willingly
TOPO CHICO has raised her game the last two times, winning very comfortably in each of those, and although she has been given a whack by the handicapper, she might complete the hat-trick with more to come.
BRAZEN IDOL has placed in his last three starts and should keep the favourite honest. PARISIAC remains well-treated on last year’s form and should go well, while WILLINGLY is covered in case we get an upset.

Leg 2 Selections: Johnny Johnson, The Smiling Wolf, Count Palatine
JOHNNY JOHNSON has run well in all four starts and his second to Dragon Leader at Salisbury is the best form in the race given the winner subsequently bolted up at York when last spotted.
THE SMILING WOLF ran his best race to date when second on nursery debut at Epsom last time, beaten only a length, and that form does make him a key player in this race with plenty more to offer.
He should be competitive in a race like this, though top-weight COUNT PALATINE was touched off by a whisker at Newbury last time and is down in grade. He is sure to be in the mix at this level.

Leg 3 Selections: First Encore, Blue Day
Ed Walker’s FIRST ENCORE took a step forward from his debut sixth to finish third a solid at Salisbury, doing his best work late on, and should be in the frame again now having his sights lowered here.
BLUE DAY contested a pretty strong race on debut when fourth at Newbury and that form has worked out well with the second winning since. With improvement on the cards, this son of Blue Point merits serious inclusion.

Leg 4 Selections: Insanity
The fourth race can go to Alan King’s INSANITY who had Syllabus in behind when second on debut at Windsor. He was only beaten a neck in that race and would have won without being short of room, as he hit the line strongly and was the biggest eye-catcher on the card.
He was down the field at Chelmsford next time but is clearly better than that based on his debut effort and, back on the turf, he has every chance of confirming his superiority over his main market rival and opening his account at the third time of asking. Excellent chance.

Leg 5 Selections: Lailah, Leazy Lindsay
LAILAH opened her account in easy fashion at Yarmouth last time, winning by three lengths, and given that was by far a new personal best, a two pound rise seems very reasonable, so she should take a lot of beating if she can match that form here or even bring about further improvement, which is possible.
LEAZY LINDSAY stepped up from previous efforts to outrun her huge odds when third on handicap debut at Leicester. That form has received boosts since and she should have a lot more to come for the Milton Harris team. A top jockey has been booked to ride and it would come as no surprise to see her go close.

Leg 6 Selections: Hildegard, Kynsa
HILDEGARD might still be winless but she has been thereabouts in each start and ran well on her first try at this trip last time when fourth at Newcastle. Oisin Murphy takes over the reins for this race and he might be able to get improvement out of this filly to trouble the judge.
KYNSA has placed in her last three starts, including a pair of runner-up efforts the last two times. She was only beaten half-a-length at this track last time and is interestingly moved up in distance which could unlock further progress. If it does, she he won’t be far away.
