Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action at Chepstow and Windsor.
14:45 Chepstow
This looks a weak 0-58 nursery handicap and I am hoping that Unleash Hell (best priced at 7/2) can step forward from his recent handicap debut in first time cheekpieces. The Tom Dascombe trained gelding finished well beaten on his first three starts at Haydock, Leicester and Brighton before showing improved form last time to finish 3rd at Ffos Las.
The handicapper has dropped Unleash Hell 1lb down to a mark of 57 following that 2 ½ length defeat and he should prove hard to beat in first time cheekpieces.
15:20 Chepstow
The free-going Marie Laveau will no doubt improve in a first time hood but preference instead goes to the consistent Azahara Palace (best priced at 15/8). The Hughie Morrison trained three-year-old won a maiden over this course and distance in June before winning on her handicap debut over this course and distance on her next start off an opening mark of 68.
Azahara Palace finished a neck 2nd at Salisbury on her next start off a mark of 71 with the pair pulling two lengths clear of the third. She is deserving of a 2lb rise and should prove hard to beat in this race with Billy Loughnane back on board (1/1 on the horse).
19:00 Windsor
The Jonny Portman trained Mrembo (best priced at 3/1) was a comfortable two-length winner at Bath on Thursday and she should hold strong claims off the same mark. The four-year-old won an apprentice handicap that day under Olivia Tubb who was claiming 5lbs and she now switches to this handicap with her rider claiming her full 7lb allowance.
Mrembo has form figures of 1271 at the track so she clearly runs well at this venue and she should prove hard to beat. Both Charlie Arthur and Rolypolymoly are respected in first time headgear but it would be disappointing if Mrembo couldn’t follow up in this race.
