Leg 1 Selections: Tierney, Suicide Blonde, Skilled Master
The racing league heads to my local, Wolverhampton, this evening and to open the card, I am playing three against the field in leg 1. TIERNEY proved no match for Heritage House at Leicester last time but still ran well in second and could improve for the switch to the all-weather. She’s of interest.
SUICIDE BLONDE has improved with each start though, and could go well from a low-draw, while James Tate has an excellent strike-rate here (22%) and his only runner, SKILLED MASTER, might get involved after running well to finish fourth in all three starts to this point.

Leg 2 Selections: International Girl, Momaer, Minnetonka
Richard Fahey’s INTERNATIONAL GIRL has had just the one previous start on the all-weather, finishing second at Newcastle, and is open to improvement on the surface. This is a big drop in grade from last time, so she’s heavily respected in leg 2.
Meanwhile, MOMAER, ran well when last seen at Chepstow when a close-up third and is feared most. Of the others, MINNETONKA should be going close off this mark, as she’s been highly-tried throughout her career to date.

Leg 3 Selections: Moonspirit, Yeoman
MOONSPIRIT travelled extremely well en route to finishing a close-up third at Newcastle seven days ago at last week’s racing league fixture and is down in grade and trip from the same mark ahead of this contest. She has valid claims.
Course specialist, YEOMAN, is two-from-two over track and trip and ran well when second at Southwell last-time-out. He can also be considered in what is an open-looking race for leg 3.

Leg 4 Selections: Koy Koy, Lir Speciale, United Front
KOY KOY lost little in defeat when second to the classy Safe Voyage at Chester on ground that was a disadvantage for him and remains on the same mark for his all-weather debut.
He won off this mark last summer at Newmarket, so if he handles the surface, he could be extremely hard to beat in leg 4. LIR SPECIALE has a record of 23311 on the all-weather though, and should go well, as should UNITED FRONT, who has some strong artificial form in his locker.

Leg 5 Selections: Naxos, Have Secret
In leg 5, George Boughey’s NAXOS has already established his liking for this sort of surface, as his record on the all-weather 121 from three starts and was last seen acquitting himself very well at Newmarket when second.
His only blemish was when down the field in the Britannia but that was a tough task on his turf debut and, with every inclination he can prove better than this mark on this surface, he is taken to emerge as a main player with more to come.
HAVE SECRET is thrown in here on his all-weather debut, however, who is on the same mark as when fourth in the Golden Gates at Royal Ascot. Only two pounds higher than when fourth in a warm-heat of the London Gold Cup, which has worked out well, he can also go close having his sights lowered.

Leg 6 Selections: Diamond Bay, Faylaq
In the 6th and final leg of today’s pool, it could pay to side with DIAMOND BAY, who is only a couple of pounds higher than when scoring at York in June and is given the chance to compete in this race off the same mark as when an eye-catching fourth at Salisbury last time.
A repeat performance should see him in contention. Of the remainder, FAYLAQ doesn’t win that often but his consistency cannot be disputed and he came close to winning the Northumberland Vase on his last all-weather start when a close-up third off this mark. Should things fall right, he has the class to beat these.
