I think as long as Green Sigma isn't anything out of the ordinary on debut for George Boughey then CHEQUERS COURT will get off the mark here. This colt by Belardo was a big eye-catcher when fourth on debut at Newbury last month. He was really keen in the early stages and then was briefly short of room before trying to make headway between horses. Pat Dobbs was very soft on him in the closing stages and he ran on nicely at the finish. He will know a lot more this time around and that experience would have done him the world of good. The third Olympic Candle won readily at Ascot next time out to frank the form. Of the rest Validated is progressing nicely and is another one I have on my radar but might be one for handicaps down the line.

Kingman colt MAFNOOD showed a good attitude to get off the mark at Haydock last month and given that form has been strongly franked since an opening mark of 84 may still prove lenient. The runner-up Touch The Moon won easily at Carlisle, the fourth Victory Shout won on the bridle by 9 lengths also at Carlisle and even the sixth Age Of Time won at Wolverhampton next time out. He is open to plenty of improvement and looks good value to beat Nellie Leylax. The latter is clearly thriving eyeing up a hat-trick now but I'm not sure he beat a great deal at Haydock last time and a 6lb rise against more unexposed rivals will demand more. Spanish Blaze has won 2 of his last 3 and impressed at Sandown so could even end up the main danger.
