The three-year-olds Field Of View (best priced at 17/2) and Opal Storm face more exposed rivals in this 0-65 handicap with preference going to the John Quinn trained gelding on his handicap debut. The son of Starspangledbanner ran well on debut to finish 7th behind Shaquille at York before slightly disappointing at Wolverhampton on his next two starts.

Field Of View now makes his handicap debut off an opening mark of 60 and interestingly is now fitted with first time cheekpieces on his first start at 5f. He is well drawn in Stall 1 and should run well with four places on offer.

Field Of View - 0.5pts e/w @ 17/2

The Rebecca Menzies trained Child Of Lir (best priced at 5/1) got off the mark over a mile here last week and he should hold strong claims under a 6lb penalty. The three-year-old ran poorly on his handicap debut at Ripon on his penultimate start but won on his AW debut last time in first time cheekpieces.

Child Of Lir stayed on well over the mile trip that day to win by a length shaping like this step up in trip to 1m2f would suit. He remains unexposed on this surface in headgear and hopefully he can defy his penalty under Alistair Rawlinson.

Child Of Lir - 1pt @ 5/1

The Gemma Tutty trained Patontheback (best priced at 15/4) has shown good form on both of his starts at Newcastle and he should hold strong claims in this race. The five-year-old finished a neck 2nd here on his reappearance off a mark of 64 before winning in emphatic style by four lengths in August off a mark of 62. The handicapper raised him 5lbs for that effort victory and he has since placed at both Musselburgh and Carlisle on his next two starts off marks of 67 and 69.

Patontheback will be suited by this return to Newcastle and should prove hard to beat off the same mark.

Patontheback - 1pt @ 15/4
