Steve Ryder is back with three tips from today's action.

Kevin Ryan has won this race for the previous two seasons with Green Team and Chuzzlewit and he is expected to do so again this year with VOLTERRA (best priced at 11/10). The son of Farhh outran odds of 25/1 to finish 4th in the Convivial Maiden at York when he finished only 1 ¾ lengths behind the winner Battle Cry.
The form of that run has been boosted by the third Thanks Forever winning easily at Chester on his next start and I expect Volterra to also get off the mark at the second attempt.

This looks a competitive 0-70 handicap but preference goes to ACONCAGUA MOUNTAIN (best priced at 8/1) who runs here from 2lbs “well in” at the weights. The Iain Jardine trained five-year-old was only beaten ¾ length when 3rd over this course and distance in August off a mark of 56 and he runs here off the same mark. He has run consistently well since with a 3rd placed finish at Beverley and a 2nd placed finish at Musselburgh last time where he was only beaten ½ length.
The handicapper has raised Aconcagua Mountain 2lbs for that effort up to a mark of 58 but he instead runs here off a mark of 56 meaning he is 2lbs “well in” at the weights. He looks sure to run well once again with up to six places available.

The Jim Goldie trained TOMMY G (best priced at 9/1) returns from 166 days off the track but should hold strong claims of a repeat victory in this race. The ten-year-old won this race last year off a mark of 67 before finishing 2nd over the same course and distance later that month off a mark of 70. The gelding ran well on his reappearance to finish 2nd at Musselburgh off a mark of 71 and he runs here off the same mark in this race.
Tommy G ran well following a 180 day break last time so this 166 day break shouldn’t be a concern and he should run well with four places widely available on the race.
