I know CONCORDE was well held when last seen at Pontefract back in June but prior to that he was seriously progressive. He really should have won his first four starts in handicaps but for a misjudgement from Pat Cosgrave at Chelmsford. He has been freshened up since that last run with a winter campaign in mind and I can see him getting firmly back on track here.

He steps up to a mile and a quarter for the first time and that could easily be a catalyst for further improvement. A mark of 86 should still be within reach and he is taken to get the better of Sayf Al Dawla. The latter is the danger as he impressed getting back to winning ways at Sandown when last seen and up 5lb should run well. Of the rest Dubai Souq is also respected if bouncing back.

I am going to stick with OLYMPIC CANDLE here following that convincing win at Ascot last time. He had previously caught the eye running a big race on debut and then progressed to win with plenty in hand last time. He drops back to 6f for the first time but certainly doesn’t lack toe and it could suit better if anything. There isn’t a great deal of pace on so Oisin Murphy could send him forward and try and make all.

He has a 6lb penalty to carry but could quite easily be a cut above this level. Debora’s Dream is improving with experience and if this Sioux Nation colt steps forward again he will be the biggest danger. Of the rest Jungle Mac is another one that should have a bright enough future and he could show up well for a long way as well.
