PUROSANGUE was only beaten a neck by Big Evs in the Molecomb at Goodwood and then confirmed that promise when second at this level in the Roses Stakes at York. Beautiful Diamond is an obvious threat having been placed in the Queen Mary and not beaten far at all in the Lowther last time. Toca Madera edges out the unexposed Queen's Guard to be best of the rest.

QUEEN ME has only competed at the highest level this year, with her best effort possibly coming in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, where she was not beaten far into sixth. Funny Story (second) had Gale Force Maya (fourth) behind when only denied by a neck at Pontefract and can go well once more. Sophia's Starlight has had a cracking season and could also mount a bold bid.
