This looks a competitive renewal of the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes but preference goes to the top rated OCEAN QUEST (best priced at 6/4) with her sex allowance. The Jessie Harrington trained three-year-old has been running consistently well so far this season including a six length victory over the reopposing Aesop’s Fables on heavy ground on her reappearance at Navan. She finished a 2 ¼ length 4th in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot behind Shaquille before winning easily last time.

Ocean Quest is deserving of a rating of 108 following her 3¾ length victory in the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes at Naas a month ago and she should prove hard to beat if reproducing that form.

The Iain Jardine trained THE GAY BLADE (best priced at 7/1) ran well to finish 2nd over this course and distance earlier this month and he should hold strong claims off the same mark in this race. The four-year-old gelding won over this course and distance off a mark of 51 last season in September and got back to winning ways at Musselburgh in a classified stakes race when rated 50 in August.

The Gay Blade ran well to finish a two length 2nd at Hamilton last time off this mark of 53 and he should run well with four places available.

The Willie Mullins trained MAZE RUNNER (best priced at 11/2) has uninspiring form figures of 0780 on his previous flat starts but he now looks well handicapped off a mark of 89 in this race. The eight-year-old won over 2 miles here in June 2022 off a mark of 81 by 5 ½ lengths before finishing 2nd by 1½ lengths behind stablemate Echoes In Rain at Galway over this trip of 2m1f on his next start off a mark of 89.

Maze Runner has disappointed on his starts so far this year but now looks well handicapped back off a mark of 89 and he should run well with four places on offer.
