Leg 1 Selections: Blue Storm, Good Point, Our Bank, Garfield Shadow

None of the quartet can be ruled out so they all go on the shortlist. BLUE STORM impressed on his debut at Newmarket and while he could only finish sixth in a Listed event next time, that wasn’t a bad effort and he should take the beating now eased in grade. GOOD POINT and OUR BANK should improve on what they have shown to date, while newcomer GARFIELD SHADOW cannot be dismissed either.

Leg 2 Selections: Captain Corcoran

CAPTAIN CORCORAN returned to form with a very good third at Thirsk when last spotted six days ago and should give another good account of himself from the exact same mark.

Leg 3 Selections: Bringbackthememories, Yeeeaah

BRINGBACKTHEMEMORIES is generally consistent and has made the frame in three of his last six starts. He wasn’t beaten far when third at Redcar last-time-out and is eased in grade for this contest. YEEEAAH is the only last-time-out winner in the field, so is heavily respected on that basis and could be the one to come out on top if the favourite doesn’t succeed.

Leg 4 Selections: Slainte Mhath, Isle Of Dreams

SLAINTE MHATH is a three-time C&D winner and her latest win came in July from a much lower mark. She was well beaten here last time but she is better than that and is fancied to get back on track. ISLE OF DREAMS has won six of her last seven starts and although this is a career-high mark, she might be able to find the necessary improvement to keep her winning sequence intact.

Leg 5 Selections: Burj Malinka, Ramon Di Loria

BURJ MALINKA has gained both of his career wins at this course and is 3Ib lower than when last successful at this track. With the cheekpieces refitted, he could get back to his best and run a big race. The assessor has given him a fine chance. RAMON DI LORIA is a pound lower than when scoring in May at Carlisle and should emerge as one of the main dangers.

Leg 6 Selections: Hondo, Rory The Cat

HONDO needs to shrug aside a lesser effort at Thirk when last spotted but a repeat of his second at Catterick would have him sound claims in this poor contest. RORY THE CAT has won two of his last four starts and likewise the former, needs to put aside a lesser performance last time, but could resume his progress now that he’s freshened up after a mini break.
