Leg 1 Selections: Let’s Dream, Torrent

Align The Stars was a place in front of LET’S DREAM when the pair finished second and third at Hamilton but the latter might reverse the form under these testing conditions and will be Hayley Turner’s only ride on the card.

TORRENT shaped with promise when sixth of 12 on debut at Salisbury and could pose a threat with that run under his belt.

Leg 2 Selections: Hafeet Alain, Fox Tal

In the second race, HAFEET ALAIN is an appealing price to resume winning ways. Ed Walker has highly-tried this seven-year-old, who defied a mark of 94 on the all-weather last February, and won a decent race on the turf at Newmarket back in June. He has since placed in his two turf starts, which includes a neck second back at Newmarket behind Dutch Decoy, and that reads good form in this grade.

FOX TAL is quirky but equally talented and his only previous start here saw him finish a close-up third in a Group 2 event. He is clear of these on ratings and should go well.

Leg 3 Selections: Punchbowl Flyer, Hierarchy

Despite finishing last of 25 in the Silver Cup at Ayr four days ago, PUNCHBOWL FLYER will be favoured by these underfoot conditions, who goes well on soft/heavy ground and his last win was off a mark of 99 at Windsor on soft going in a class 2. If he can recapture some of his best form, he should outrun his odds.

HIERARCHY contested mostly pattern-class events last year and caught the eye under a big weight at Southwell last time when fourth. Dropped another couple of pounds back on the turf, he is a leading player. The two picks are the classiest horses in the field.

Leg 4 Selections: My Prospero

The fourth race surely revolves around MY PROSPERO who bids to take the drop in class in his stride and will be hard to beat. I cannot understand why he isn’t odds-on because even though he was turned over last time when sent off at prohibitive odds, he was only beaten half-a-length by the 120-rated Alflaila. That was a Group 2 race and he is down in class against horses who are rated inferior to him. He is the class act in the field and should be too good for these.

Leg 5 Selections: Cry Fiction, Les Bleus

After winning on debut, CRY FICTION has been tried at a much higher level, and the form of her Listed second reads well before a creditable sixth in a Group 3 at Ascot next time. She was well beaten in another Group 3 when last seen but will take a huge drop in grade here and has a chance.

LES BLEUS has already finished third in Group 2 and Group 3 events and will be partnered by Ryan Moore. She is a standout contender on ratings and form.

Leg 6 Selections: Greysful Storm, Typewriter

Should we get to the sixth race, I’d be hopeful GREYSFUL STORM can run well. She has finished second in two of her last four starts and can run in this off the same mark as when a solid second at Ayr four days ago.

The top-weight TYPEWRITER has some really strong form to her name and her pair of fourth placed efforts at York as well as her fourth at Royal Ascot in the Queen Alexandra are the best pieces of form in the field. She’s a major player at this lower level.
