Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action, with runners at Leicester & Brighton.
15:22 Leicester
This looks a competitive 0-70 handicap but preference goes to Secret Mistral (best priced at 8/1) who stayed on well over 5f here on soft ground a month ago and should hold strong claims off only a 4lb higher mark. The Tony Carroll trained three-year-old defied odds of 50/1 to win over 6f at Haydock on only her second start and was only beaten 2 ¾ lengths over this distance at Haydock again in August off a mark of 69.
Secret Mistral won here over 5f last time by 1 ¼ lengths and is deserving of a 4lb rise from the handicapper up to a mark of 70. She should be suited by this step back up in trip to 6f and should run well with up to four places available.
15:30 Brighton
The Jack Jones trained Cryptos Dream (best priced at 4/1) was an easy winner over this course and distance on her penultimate start and she should hold strong claims back at this track. The four-year-old lost her way in Ireland before finishing 4th at Windsor on her stable debut in August. She was an impressive 3 ½ length winner over this course and distance on her next start off a mark of 45 before going off too fast under a 5lb penalty on her next start at Ripon.
Cryptos Dream runs here off a mark of 51 in this race which is fair and if Dylan Hogan doesn’t set fractions too fast then she should prove hard to beat.
16:40 Brighton
It was a poor maiden that Harry The Haggler (best priced at 9/2) won over this course and distance last time but he should still hold strong claims switched back into handicap company. The Stuart Williams trained three-year-old has been running consistently well in handicaps so far this season with form figures of 252232 and he was deserving of his 6 ½ length victory over this course and distance last time.
Hopefully that victory 22 days ago will have given Harry The Haggler a confidence boost and he should run well back in a handicap off a mark of 60.
