Andrew Balding's colt shaped as though this step up to 6f would suit when rallying late to finish a clear second on that occasion and he looks primed to offer another bold bid. Starlore is feared most after running well in the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown and he should be thereabouts, while C&D winner Tropical Island also warrants to respect.

WHISKEY PETE has been a beaten odds-on favourite on his last two starts but the son of Night Of Thunder has still shown plenty of promise in defeat on those occasions. He is likely to benefit from the switch to nursery company now and a mark of 86 may underestimate his ability. I'm Puzzled and Swift Salian both merit the utmost respect following impressive wins on their most recent outings, while Aragon Castle is the pick of the remainder.

Several of these clashed in the Ayr Gold Cup three weeks ago and while Significantly is a must for consideration after landing that valuable pot, he could be vulnerable off 4lb higher today. Gweedore (third), Albasheer (fourth) and Montassib (fifth) were all close up behind that day and come into the reckoning on the revised terms. However, APOLLO ONE has been threatening to strike at this sort of level all season and, with ground conditions likely to suit, a return to winning ways could be imminent. ALIGN THE STARS has finished second on both career starts at Hamilton and Goodwood, with the latter effort coming over 1m 2f. A full-brother to the four-time Group 3 winner Al Aasy, he is expected to be ridden positively to put both his stamina and racecourse experience to good use. Colorada Dancer has shown some promise over 7f but needs to prove that the extra furlong will suit him. Assailant and Winston's Tipple are a pair of newcomers to respect.

Believe In Stars returned from a year off the track with a narrow success at Goodwood last month and he merits respect, while not seemingly thrown in, off an opening mark of 94. Preference is for LA YAKEL, who was able to bounce back from a below-par run to win at Doncaster 28 days ago. Scampi likes it around here and must enter calculations along with recent Ayr scorer Hartswood.

This may be fought out between two rivals better known for their exploits over hurdles in Wakool and PUNCTUATION, with the latter edging the vote. The Fergal O'Brien-trained gelding recorded a career-best performance in a competitive handicap hurdle at Aintree in April and he looks nicely treated now reverting to the Flat. The aforementioned Wakool won't be lacking for stamina and isn't taken lightly, while the hat-trick seeking Arrange is unlikely to be far away either.

STAR AHOY was well clear of the rest of the field when beaten two lengths in second over 1m2f at Sandown last time and this looks the perfect opportunity to go one better today. William Haggas' charge has been raised just 1lb in the ratings for that effort which appears lenient. Dunes King looks the main danger to the selection on his handicap bow and his opening mark of 85 doesn't look out of his reach, while Eeetee finished fourth in this contest last year off 1lb higher and he is respected.
