The Tom Symonds trained LANDINABO LAD (best priced at 9/2) faces five chasing debutants in this race and hopefully his experience over fences means he can get off the mark at the sixth attempt. The eight-year-old won a listed novice hurdle at Haydock in 2020 on soft ground before slightly losing his way after.

The Patrick Chamings trained eight-year-old won this race off a mark of 82 in 2021 on soft ground before winning last year off a mark of 85 on good to soft ground.

Spanish Star has won twice since, including over this course and distance in May, with his latest victory coming at Epsom off mark of 90. The gelding runs here off only 1lb higher here which is 1lb lower than his 1 length 3rd over this course and distance on his penultimate start. Bookmakers are offering four places on the race and he looks the obvious selection in this race.
