I know OLD FAITHFUL has proved a little disappointing after such a promising debut run but he hasn’t done a great deal wrong and it still remains very early days. He should be suited by this deep ground and if going forward may be able to gallop these into submission. His third to Diego Velazquez on debut remains a standout piece of form and he should be winning sooner rather than later.

Stablemate Chantilly improved from his debut run to finish runner-up at Killarney and could easily give the stable a 1-2. Thor’s Hammer went close at Roscommon and then was highly tried at the Curragh last month so is another one that could get involved if getting back to his best.

I know CERVETTO didn’t show a huge amount on debut but he was sent off 14/1 and I thought there was enough promise to make him of interest in a winnable race. That has turned out to be a pretty useful maiden so while he only managed midfield he is expected to have improved plenty since.

He cost €100,000 as a yearling so was by no means a cheap purchase and new connections will be anticipating a much better display here on his reappearance. King Of Fury is favourite and he does set the standard but he hasn’t pulled down any trees in two starts to date and might prove vulnerable to an improver. Royal Jet is another one to note with further progression anticipated as well.
