Despite having to give both Toll Stone and Highland Rahy both 4lbs in this race, RAPID CITY (best priced at 5/1) should hold strong claims of getting off the mark at the fourth attempt in this maiden. The Luke Comer trained four-year-old has progressed with each start and was a huge eyecatcher when outrunning odds of 40/1 to finish 4th by 1 ¼ lengths at Punchestown last time.

Rapid City was hampered early on in the race that day before staying on strongly over 1m1f shaping like this additional half a furlong would suit him well. This race is restricted rated under 75 so it suits him well and he should be involved in the finish.

Someone’s Wish is respected in his hat-trick bid but preference instead goes to TRACKMAN (best priced at 9/2) who nearly landed a gamble on his handicap debut a month ago. The Simon Pearce trained three-year-old only beat one rival home in each of his first three starts when sent off triple figure prices but was extremely well backed into 5/2 favouritism on his handicap debut at Chelmsford last month off an opening mark of 45.

Trackman appeared to have improved for both the combination of the step up in trip to 1m2f and the gelding operation where he was only beaten a length at the finish. The handicapper has left him unchanged off a mark of 45 which seems generous and he should prove hard to beat in this race.

The TJ Kent trained DREAM PIRATE (best priced at 5/2) has won both of his starts since the application of blinkers and he should hold strong claims of completing a hat-trick of wins in that headgear. The improvement has also come at the same time as encountering soft ground on his previous two starts with victories coming over this course and distance in September and at Bath 14 days ago.

Dream Pirate won easily by 3 ¼ lengths last time at Bath so he is deserving of a 6lb rise in the weights and he should prove hard to beat with conditions to suit.
