Just Hiss had been running to a consistent level prior to his below-par Catterick run and he must firmly enter the reckoning today, while Chinese Spirit heads the remainder.

Skilled Warrior is not without a chance, but the remainder would need significant improvement.

In a fairly open contest, a chance can be taken on HAVAGOMECCA. Michael Dods' mare hasn't been at her best recently, but she is now 4lb lower than when landing this corresponding event 12 months ago and might be revived by the return to this venue. Jordan Electrics ran a cracker to finish fourth under a penalty in the Ayr Bronze Cup last month and he rates the main danger back off his revised mark. Vadamiah should not be underestimated either.

Langholm has been a model of consistency over the past couple of months at Catterick and the seven-year-old is more than capable of another strong bid. Without Delay was beaten less than a length in third at Catterick last time and she is likely to be in the mix once again, but a chance is taken with MONAADHIL. A winner at Chelmsford last month, he hadn't been disgraced over C&D the time before and this appears to be a suitable opportunity for the nine-year-old.

MUBHIJAH clearly benefited from a change of scenery when running out a comfortable winner of a Carlisle maiden in August. The daughter of Shamardal may have benefited from that confidence booster and the switch to handicap company for the first time might yield further improvement. Glorious Angel has to be considered after her recent fourth at Ripon off a 1lb higher mark, while others to note are Rock Melody and Mersea.

LADY BRACKEN (second) had Cantalupo Bella (third) and Aighear (fourth) behind over 1m7f at Ayr last time and the three-year-old could improve for this further step up in distance. Therefore, she can confirm the form from that day and go one better to shed her maiden tag. Hellenista has dropped to an appealing mark and it would be foolish to dismiss her at this level.

Last-time-out Hamilton winner Ski Angel heads the dangers, as she only competes off a 2lb higher mark, while Doctor Mozart is also of interest sporting first-time cheekpieces.
