Leg 1 Selections: Flying Scotsman, Oh So Grand, Boldly

FLYING SCOTSMAN will find this easier than last time and he is only a pound higher than when he scored at Listowel - September last year. He can make a bold bid carrying top-weight.

OH SO GRAND has won twice already this year and was only beaten a short-head at Epsom last time having tried to win from the front. She merits consideration.

BOLDLY will make his handicap debut off a lenient mark, and ran well when third over course-and-distance on debut, so he is equally respected.

Leg 2 Selections: Onesmoothoperator, Haunted Dream

One of the most competitive races on the card and I am willing to give another chance to ONESMOOTHOPERATOR who is seen to best effect when he gets a strong gallop and that is likely to be the case here.

He would have finished much closer last time at Southwell without being denied a clear passage and went close the time before that off only a pound lower mark here when second. He cannot be discounted.

Neither can HAUNTED DREAM who ran with credit to finish eighth of 34 in the Cambridgeshire last time and placed in his four previous starts. His record on the all-weather also reads 312111, so he is very much one to consider.

Leg 3 Selections: Storm And Conquest, Flickering Flame

With the stables very good strike-rate at this course, debutant STORM AND CONQUEST has to go on the shortlist for the Simon and Ed Crisford team. He makes plenty of appeal on paper.

FLICKERING FLAME was marginally beaten into third on debut at Lingfield having shaped with lots of promise and is sure to progress with that experience under her belt. Hollie Doyle takes the ride.

Leg 4 Selections: Northern Cracksman, Socialise

NORTHERN CRACKSMAN has undergone wind surgery ahead of his handicap debut and is heavily eased in grade as well. He could be capable of being right in the mix.

Of the remainder, SOCIALISE is more exposed than most but has been solid the last twice over this course-and-distance. He is equipped with cheekpieces and the return to the longer trip should suit, so he is considered.

Leg 5 Selections: Bold Territories, Hot Scoop

BOLD TERRITORIES has course winning form in the locker and went very close to winning over track and trip last time when a close-up, staying on third.

The handicapper has surprisingly reduced his mark a pound and is now four pounds below his last winning mark which came at Redcar plus he is two pounds lower than when last successful here.

He is a dangerous proposition, meanwhile HOT SCOOP finished a creditable fourth off an eight pounds higher mark on his last visit here and has in-the-frame claims at least.

Leg 6 Selections: Utilis, Irish Flame

I am in favour of another Brian Ellison runner on the card in the shape of UTILIS who finished a satisfactory second over track and trip last time and has been let in this contest off an unaltered mark. I can envisage him running another sound race.

IRISH FLAME has course-and-distance winning form to his name and would have been a lot closer last time at this course with a clear run. Still, he ran well to take fifth and is worth another chance.
