Steve Ryder is back with four tips from today's action.
16:20 Kempton
The Mick Appleby trained Mohareb (best priced at 7/1) was backed from big prices last time to finish 2nd at an SP of 7/1. The seven-year-old is extremely well handicapped off a mark of 72 having won off marks of 88, 86, 84 and 79 in his career with his latest victory coming nearly two years ago.
Mohareb returned from a 75 day break to finish 2nd at Chelmsford where he was disadvantaged by his position in the rear and he should be better suited by this track. The winner The Waiting Game followed up off an 8lb higher mark next time and is now rated 11lbs higher. Mohareb runs here off the same mark in this race and should run well with up to four places available.
16:55 Kempton
Both Super Schwartz and Mbappe arrive here in form but a chance is taken on Monkey Miss (best priced at 9/1) on her handicap debut. The Daniel & Claire Kubler trained filly has form figures of 578 in maiden/novice races but should now have a more realistic chance off an opening mark of 57.
Connections fit Monkey Miss with first time cheekpieces in this race which can hopefully make the job of Richard Kingscote easier during the race. It will be disappointing if she finishes out of the first four off this mark and she should run well on her handicap debut.
17:25 Nottingham
The Richard Price trained Rhubarb (best priced at 5/2) defied odds of 14/1 to win over this course and distance on heavy ground a fortnight ago and she should prove hard to beat off only a 3lb higher mark. The six-year-old gets the assistance of the best jockey in the race Serena Brotherton and she should be suited by these conditions once again.
Many of her rivals are struggling for recent form apart from Alfred Cove who finished 2nd last time so it would be disappointing if Rhubarb couldn’t follow up her recent course and distance success.
18:30 Kempton
Three-time course and distance winner Recuerdame (best priced at 11/1) has consistent form figures of 414 here this year and he should give another good account in this race. The Simon Dow trained seven-year-old defied odds of 11/1 to win over this course and distance in September off a mark of 53 before finishing a close 4th last time off a mark of 57.
There should be plenty of pace in this race to suit the running style of Recuerdame and he should run well with up to five places available. Luke Morris takes over on board and I expect him to be staying on strongly at the finish.
