There are doubts around Irish 2000 Guineas 2nd Cairo on the heavy ground so preference goes to Snapraeterea (best priced at 6/1) who is relishes this testing surface. The Joseph O’Brien trained five-year-old has been in consistently good form this season with two 2nd placed efforts at Galway and Cork on soft and soft/heavy ground before winning the listed Concorde Stakes at Tipperary last time on heavy ground.

With a rating of 105, Snapraeterea has a few pounds to find with both Cario and Power Under Me but he arrives in good form and is proven on the ground so he looks the obvious each way play against the favourite.

Snapraeterea - 0.5pts e/w @ 6/1

The Dan Skelton trained Notnowlinda (best priced at 7/4) has the benefit of chasing experience over all bar the outsider Rakhine State in this race and she should be able to go one better than on her reappearance. The six-year-old was sent off 9/4 favourite for her chasing debut at Warwick on her reappearance where she jumped well and was only headed on the run in by a stronger stayer over the 2m4f trip.

This drop back in trip to 2m2f will suit Notnowlinda well and she should prove hard to beat off only a 2lb higher mark.
