BESTALINE hasn't raced for almost a year but has jumping experience and returns at a good time of year – hinting she'll be ready. A debut French flat winner at Nort-Sur-Erdre in May 2022, she was reported to be 'blowing hard' post-race on jumps debut but finishing third to Zarak The Brave last November in a race which has worked out very well. She's A Fine Wine won impressively in March and debuts for new connections. From a talented family whose runners invariably race keenly, she pulled too hard in an April Grade 2 bumper but is better judged on her Southwell success. She is likely to race prominently but cedes hurdling experience to the selection. Mag Dillane has bits of form and can follow on at a respectful distance in third. Not Before Time showed ability on Tipperary debut.
Prediction : 1st Bestaline 2nd Shes A Fine Wine 3rd Mag Dillane

WALK AWAY HARRY returns from a summer's break, having won at the Punchestown festival. He debuts over jumps but has heavy-ground form and his rider claims 5lb. His owners the Area Fiftyone Syndicate, share the same name as a highly-classified US Air Force training range but their horse notably reappears for a local trainer at a big meet. Native Speaker was left clear to easily win his point-to-point and ran well in a good Cork bumper in March. His jumping experience will help but is vulnerable to smart types. What's Up Darling has point-to-pointing experience and while his bumper form is strong, it was over longer distances which suggests he might prefer further than two miles. Diamboy Des Carres relishes testing ground and is built for fences but hasn't run since November. Ballycallan King has minor place claims.
Prediction : 1st Walk Away Harry 2nd Native Speaker 3rd Whats Up Darling

HALSAFARI debuts for a new trainer and runs in a first-time tongue-tie but has claims if recapturing old form, on his favoured heavy ground. His previous win was in 2019 but he competed well at higher levels last winter, returns from a break and contests a winnable race. Millstream Lady won well in a similar Listowel handicap last month but competes from 9lb higher. In-form Chainofconsequence is a previous course winner who competes well at this level while Hazran should improve from a recent flat reappearance. Stablemates Flemansflick and New Barn Lane, along with He's Home Again, debut in handicaps.
Prediction : 1st Halsafari 2nd Millstream Lady 3rd Chainofconsequence

POSITIVE THINKER has failed in 10 previous hurdle runs but has won both his chases and today reverts to hurdling from a favourable rating. A soft-ground stayer, he is rated 11lb higher over fences following his recent Gowran win, he looks progressive and nicely handicapped. Five-time winner Robyndeglory also stays well and while she has too recent form, isn't ahead of the handicapper. Another Nightmare won over this distance at Listowel and while 5lb higher, might be able to continue her progression. Criminal Mischief won an ordinary Clonmel maiden in March and while well held last-time, could improve a little at this distance. Killinure Lass is dependable at this level and has place claims.
Prediction : 1st Positive Thinker 2nd Robyndeglory 3rd Another Nightmare

WALK AWAY is lightly-raced but hinted at having his old ability in May. He raced against Minella Indo, Champ, Faugheen and Allaho in 2019, started favourite for the 2020 renewal of this race - only to fall and ran well a rating of 136 at the 2021 Punchestown festival. He needed his Tipperary reappearance run and today returns from a summer's break under a light weight. Gordon Elliott runs eight, with Jack Kennedy riding 2022 Irish National runner-up Frontal Assault. He should improve from a recent reappearance and wasn't beaten far in January's Thyestes. Stablemates Gevrey and Defi Bleu were second and third in April's Irish National and while Gevrey pulled up - having made a mistake, at Listowel, is capable of better. Mars Harper won at Listowel but competes from a career high mark. Run Wild Fred, winner of the 2021 Troytown, finished second in the 2021 Irish National but is long absent. Coco Beach, winner of the 2021 Thyestes, is suited by testing conditions while Paddy Power winner Real Steel would prefer a sounder surface.
Prediction : 1st Walk Away 2nd Frontal Assault 3rd Defi Bleu

JODY TED progressed well having returned from 584 days off last season and likes this distance and testing ground. His form last winter was strong and while he returns following a summer's break, contests a lesser handicap than when finishing second to Kilcruit at Punchestown last April. Race-fit, in-form Pats Choice is ground-versatile but is 5lb higher than when winning at Galway. Course winner All Those Years is ground-versatile and was staying on when falling at Killarney in August while similarly-owned Mica Malpic would prefer a sounder surface. Hope Des Blins is in-form but faces a tougher task than when winning at Sligo.
Prediction : 1st Jody Ted 2nd Pats Choice 3rd All Those Years

Former Triumph Hurdle winner QUILIXIOS might defy a 610-days layoff and score on fences debut. A top notch performer in 2020/'21, he is proven on testing ground and while absent since his Red Mills Hurdle run in February 2022, effectively missed just one full jumps season and being a six-year-old, might retain his ability. Cool Survivor is himself a Listed winning hurdler who finished fourth at Grade 1 level last February. He was reported to have 'stopped quickly' at Cheltenham in March and while vulnerable to an on-song selection, could become a capable chaser. La Malmason has hurdles form and is race-fit but has plenty on her plate while race-fit Captains Nephew is also useful but needs to improve to win.
Prediction : 1st Quilixios 2nd Cool Survivor 3rd La Malmason
