Christian Williams is a superb target trainer and it would come as no surprise if he hasn’t aimed Uno Mas (best priced at 20/1) for a long time. The nine-year-old won this race in 2021 off a mark of 102 under Ellis Collier before winning his next two starts to complete a four-timer that year. He has only been seen once since which was a below par effort in March 2022 off a mark of 113 but the handicapper has given a chance with a rating of 108.

Ellis Collier gets back on board in this conditional jockeys’ race and I expect him to outrun his odds with four places available.

Mint Boy is respected from the in-form Gavin Cromwell stable but preference instead goes to Stuzzikini (best priced at 2/1) who has the benefit of eight more runs over hurdles. The Gordon Elliott trained five-year-old is a consistent performer who won over hurdles at Kilbeggan in April but has also finished 2nd a further five times over hurdles.

Stuzzikini was last seen finishing 2nd in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown off a mark of 124 and the handicapper has raised him 2lbs up to a mark of 126 for that effort. If he runs up to that rating in this race then he should prove extremely hard to beat.
