He's up in grade and down in trip, which leaves him vulnerable, but this improving three-year-old will handle conditions and has to be respected.

He handled testing ground well and can be given a positive ride from a good draw over this shorter trip. Hokusai may well have been placed but for meeting with interference in a Leopardstown handicap, and was runner-up on heavy ground in a maiden at Bellewstown in the spring. Headgear is now fitted by Noel Meade and the Raven's Pass gelding is a leading contender. Nouvel Espoir finished well to be third over 6f on debut at the Curragh before finding only one too good over the minimum distance at Navan. His stamina will be tested up the hill here, but the dam's side of his pedigree offers some encouragement in that regard.

The form of Tim Doyle's horses has been one of the features of the second half of the Irish Flat season and KINDA TINY has shown on several occasions that she is capable of adding to the stable's tally of winners. The daughter of Cotai Glory was beaten less than a length when fifth at Cork in August and handled testing ground well when third at the Curragh last time. A stiff 7f should suit, as will a light weight, with an in-form claimer taking 7lb off her back. Little Keilee twice ran well over C&D at the Festival during the summer and was only beaten fractions when third on heavy ground at Bellewstown last month. Manhattan Dandy, a former stablemate of Little Keilee, was a longstanding maiden until this summer, but has now got two wins to his name and again ran well when reeled in close home at Gowran last time. He handles heavy ground and is another for the shortlist.

DREAM ESCAPE is a lightly-raced four-year-old who has shown improvement recently and he can gain a second win under Conor Stone-Walsh. The talented apprentice has had a very successful season and was on board when Tom Mullins' charge won a Killarney maiden on heavy ground. The Iffraaj gelding had plenty of useful horses behind when sixth in a premier handicap at Leopardstown last weekend. Immutable has to give weight away to older rivals, but likes testing ground and bumped into a couple of well-treated opponents when runner-up in handicaps at Thurles and Naas earlier in the month. Narlita got off the mark on heavy ground at Bellewstown before finishing a creditable second at the Curragh. She is another who is relatively unexposed and capable of further improvement.

JAZZY ROCK is from a family that the Casey family has enjoyed a lot of success with over the years, and the daughter of Red Jazz has shown improvement in her last couple of starts at Navan. Having travelled well, she was caught late in a 21-runner handicap over 1m6f and may be suited by dropping back in trip. She handled soft ground at Navan so may be able to cope with even more testing conditions. Katonah was second over this trip on heavy ground at Listowel before racing a bit too keenly when fifth at Bellewstown. If settling more effectively, she is likely to contend and Colin Keane knows her well. Special Protector is another Tim Doyle inmate who has been running well in recent starts, although her stamina for 1m4f is unproven. Similarly Grann's Boy, placed over 1m2f on his last two starts, is another who is not sure to get home.

Ger Lyons is finishing the season well and might get another winner on the board with TORTURED SOUL, who comes into this in good form and makes plenty of appeal off bottom weight. The Zoffany gelding has been gradually progressive in handicaps and came home well to be third on heavy ground when stepping up to this trip for the first time at Gowran earlier in the month. Fair Damsel was half a length in front of the selection and has since run well in a charity race at Leopardstown. Trip and ground will suit and she has obvious claims. Enquire Within made the breakthrough over 1m6f at Navan in August and has continued to run well since. She was runner-up on heavy ground at Bellewstown two starts back and Wesley Joyce gets a good tune out of her.
