Conditions at Newmarket will prove testing and the fact that It’s Not Risky (best priced at 16/1) only carries 8st4lbs on his handicap debut will be a huge benefit. The Hugo Palmer trained two-year-old has run with credit on his three starts over 7f but now returns from a short break to make his handicap debut going up in trip to 1m1f for the first time.

It’s Not Risky has been gelded since his last run six weeks ago and is also fitted with first time cheekpieces in this race. An opening mark of 66 should underestimate him and he looks worth taking a chance on at the prices.

With the benefit of a recent run on the flat, Wakool (best priced at 7/2) should hold strong claims of a repeat victory in this race. The Nicky Alexander trained seven-year-old won this race last season off a mark of 133 before finishing 2nd over this course and distance in January off a mark of 140. He won the Grade 2

Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock on February before slightly disappointing at the Cheltenham Festival.
Wakool runs here off a mark of 141 so he is only 1lb higher than his 2nd over this course and distance but has the benefit of race fitness over many of his rivals in this race.

The Joe Parr trained Revolucion (best priced at 5/1) is still a maiden after 14 runs but he has shown good form at this track previously and he should be involved in the finish. The three-year-old gelding finished 2nd by 1 ¼ lengths over this course and distance last year before finishing 3rd beaten only 1 ½ lengths over this course and distance in July off a mark of 64.

Revolucion was only beaten a head when 2nd at Kempton a month ago when fitted with a first time visor off a mark of 59 and he gets to run here off the same mark. He is well drawn in Stall 5 and should run well with up to four places available.
