The Philip Hobbs & Johnson White stable have started this season in much better form and I am hoping that GEORGI GIRL (best priced at 10/1) is on a lenient opening mark as a result. The four-year-old filly won on her debut at Ludlow in December before finishing 3rd at Ffos Las on soft ground on her next start. She was only beaten two lengths when 2nd at Taunton on her final start last season in March and has been given a mark of 108 following those three runs.

The Hobbs & White stable are currently operating at a 36% strike rate in the last two weeks but have also seen a better win percentage this year at 17% in the 23-24 season in comparison to 9% last year. They should have well handicapped horses as a result and Georgi Girl should run well on her reappearance with four places available.

This looks a competitive 0-75 handicap but preference goes to DARK SIDE THUNDER (best priced at 5/1) who has consistent form at this track. The Jessica Macey trained four-year-old has form figures of 113 at Kempton in his career with both of his victories coming over 6f here. Those came off marks of 71 and 70 before finishing 3rd by ½ length a month ago off a mark of 74.

The handicapper has left Dark Side Thunder on a mark of 74 which seems lenient and he looks sure to be suited by this step back up to 7f in this race. Lewis Edmunds is back on board which is a positive and he should run well with four places on offer.

Wilde And Dandy is respected under a 6lb penalty but preference instead goes to LAURA'S BREEZE (best priced at 5/2) who was unlucky not to get off the mark last time at Kempton. The Ed Dunlop trained filly has been running well on her three starts on the AW including when 3rd by 1 ½ lengths at Chelmsford off a mark of 60. She was only beaten a nose when 2nd at Kempton on Wednesday off a mark of 59 and he gets to run here off the same mark in this race.

Laura’s Breeze will no doubt prove “well in” at the weights when she gets re-assessed tomorrow and she should prove hard to beat with Billy Loughnane taking over on board.
