After springing a 28/1 surprise in a bumper at Roscommon QUARESOME was snapped up by his current connections. He quickly rewarded them making a winning hurdles debut at Musselburgh. That was impressive the way he galloped clear. I know he let backers down when only fourth at Newcastle next time but he is better than what he managed to show there and he still has a lot of potential on return. This looks a nice starting point and I expect him to be hard to beat. Slugger made a winning start over hurdles at Kelso last month so has fitness on side and looks the main danger. Moarins Moarnin perhaps best of the rest.

The hat-trick seeking JET PLANE looks hard to oppose despite a further 6lb rise. He stayed on strongly despite having made mistakes to win at Newton Abbot on return and with that under his belt could easily improve again to beat these. The runner-up Investment Manager has run well since and the fourth Tommie Beau has won so the form already has substance. With a better round of jumping I think he’ll be finishing best of all in the closing stages. Latitude has also won his last two but a 9lb rise for that Kempton win does seem a little harsh. Major Dundee was also in winning form when last seen and will like the ground so is respected too.
