I really felt like Choccabloc should have won here last time but he found a way to get beat and even going up in trip I’m keen to oppose. THE DOYEN CHIEF won an Irish point to point before making a winning start under Rules at Hereford back in April. He is open to plenty of improvement now jumping and going up in trip and may well be good enough to make a winning start. If Choccabloc fails to give his running that might leave Goonhilly as the biggest danger. He also won a bumper and has experience after going down a head on hurdles debut here last month. Hard to make a case for any of the rest but it is still a good race.

With 2 wins from 3 starts BELIEVE IN STARS looks one to keep firmly on side. I loved his attitude to come out on top at Goodwood when last seen back in September and with more to come now sent handicapping he should be good enough to complete the hat-trick. An opening mark of 94 is obviously no given but he looks a useful prospect and this is winnable enough. Greatgadian prevailed by a neck at Newcastle last month but I question that form slightly and 5lb higher even with Aidan Keeley claiming 3lb he might be up against it. Storm Catcher could be the main danger despite blowing out at Newmarket. This is easier and he goes well on the AW.
